CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Bran wished he had stayed with the band, but he had to make sure his house was set up for an extended absence. Being at home after such an incredible weekend brought waves of melancholy.

The painting he’d finished was dry, and he began the process of boxing it up for the person who had commissioned him. He cleaned his brushes and then made sure his paints were stored before closing the shutters on his back patio. He would miss this little slice of heaven, but it didn’t compare to playing on stage again.

He drove into town to ship the painting and pick up something for dinner. The shipping company wasn’t busy, and he was out in the lot, searching for a place to eat in no time. He’d just picked a spot when his phone buzzed with a message. He opened the application and froze.
